Today the founder of the world’s largest nonprofit web site for non-drug mental health education has published a story supporting Tom Cruise’s view that the official line of the American Psychiatric Association and Big Pharmaceutical company’s are harmful. Further he went on to state that there are literally hundreds of mental health practitioners who agree with him. Drugging, shocking and abusing people is not the answer to mental health.

Also a new ally in Tom’s fight against psychiatric fraud is a British newspaper group who offered him very high praise in exposing the pseudo science of psychiatry.

Federal Health officials are investigating a new link between Ritalin and cancer.

A recent study found that every one of the children tested experienced “significant chromosome abnormalities associated with increased risks of cancer and other adverse health effects” This is as reported in the Houston Chronicle in this article about the Ritalin and cancer link

Also studied were children who “become psychotic or who developed heart problems” as a result of taking Ritalin or Concerta (a newer longer lasting type of Ritalin).

Hopefully this horrible practice of schools intimidating and forcing parents to drug their children will end soon. Often parents are coerced to put their kids on drugs like prozac and ritalin.

This article on a parent who had to fight hard against her child’s school just to keep her kid of Ritalin is an all too common example.

A bill sponsored by Rep. John Kline, R-Minn., a member of the House Education Committee, would extend the Child Medication Safety Act to include psychotropic drugs such as Prozac, Paxil and Zoloft. This is a much needed extension to the bill which would help bolster parents rights and the human rights of our children.

It looks like Tom Cruise’s high profile celebrity status is causing a debate to begin among the public worldwide. And I say… It’s about time! Well done Tom.

For example, I recently found this interesting discussion on a blog. A post critical of Tom Cruise was made on the blog which sparked a very lively and intelligent debate on the subject of psychiatry, it’s “chemical imbalance” theories and the fact that their drugs don’t work. In fact, in the end, it appears that the person originally critical of Tom’s remarks had a change of heart and decided to actually do some research on the subject.

Some kinds of antidepressants can double the risk of developing breast cancer, according to a major medical study.

Based on the finding, the lead researcher is recommending that physicians stop prescribing some antidepressants.

So while Brooke Shields advocates the use of psychiatric drugs like Prozac, Paxil and Zoloft to “treat” postpartum depression - It seems some of these types of drugs can actually double the odds of breast cancer. On top of that wonderful side effect, you can also add things like: anxiety, nervousness, increased risk of suicide attempts and suicidal thoughts, decreased libido, nausea, etc, etc, etc…

The U.S. FDA on Friday issued a second warning that people taking antidepressant drugs should be monitored for signs of suicidal thoughts and increasing depression…

This follows a link made between antidepressant use and suicide. And it also follows action taken in March 2004, when the FDA said there was an increased risk of suicidal behavior in adults and children taking these drugs. It has ordered the psychiatric drug manufacturers to place a warning on the labels of all antidepressants detailing those heightened risks.

I find it interesting that the “objective” main stream media doesn’t seem so objective on the message Tom is putting out. Without even taking a look at the mountains of evidence that show brutality, fraud and mistreatment by psychiatry. The big media immediately seems to buy into the psychiatry’s propaganda and completely miss the whole point.

Since the rapid increase in the diagnosis of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) over the past decade, a new blackmarket in drugs has hit schools.

Legally prescribed speed has become the new cheap thrill. Used to treat the “disorder”, it can be bought for a few dollars and children as young as nine are reportedly asking teachers, “Why does Damien have speed?” For more information, see this article
