In this article by Charley Reese, he covers the media’s treatment of Tom Cruise and his campaign to make the public aware of the dangers of psychiatric drugs.
He also mentions that Ritalin is a harmful scourge that is damaging children. Mr. Reese says:
“As for Ritalin, which in my opinion is irresponsibly prescribed for millions of children, it is a stimulant in the same family as cocaine. Long-term studies show that it has no permanent therapeutic value. Furthermore, there is disagreement on whether the so-called attention-deficit disorder even exists. There are also some negative side effects of Ritalin.”

(OPENPRESS) September 5, 2005 — Todd Cameron Smith, the boy the police captured after he escaped from a Toronto, Ontario group home recently, was the 4th out of 9 school shooters who were taking one or another of psychiatry’s violence inducing drugs at the time of the shooting.
On April 28, 1999, Todd walked into his Taber Alberta high school with a sawed-off shotgun and shot and killed 16-year-old Jason Lang and wounded another boy. He was subsequently convicted in an Alberta, court trial, and then transferred to Ontario, Canada to serve his sentence.

In a review of the book “Selling Sickness: How Drug Companies are Turning Us All into Patients” Phil Shannon reports about the pharmaceutical industries efforts to turn every day problems into diseases “treatable” by drugs. All in the name of profit.
Thirty years ago, the retiring head of the Merck pharmaceutical company told Fortune magazine that he was distressed that the market for his company’s drugs was limited to only sick people. If he could make drugs for healthy people, he would be able to “sell to everyone. That dream is now coming true.

The Psychiatric News is reporting that since the FDA has ordered drug companies to place a strong black box warnings on anti-depressants there has been nearly a 20% drop in the number of prescriptions for these drugs. The black box warning is over the drastic increase in the amount of people who kill themselves after taking these drugs. It seems that a big side effect of antidepressants like Paxil, Effexor, Prozac, Luvox, Celexa, Lexapro, Zoloft and Remeron is an increase of up to 700% in the number of people who kill themselves. I think drugs that cause people to commit suicide should never be prescribed. So a 20% drop is just a good start.

In another news article vindicating Tom Cruise, Scientists have discovered that antidepressants cause a dramatic increase in birth defects. A recent medical study showed that the risks of a baby having heart defects were increased by 60 percent if their mother had taken antidepressant drugs like Paxil, Prozac and Zoloft. There was also an increased risk for premature birth and other malformations of the baby. The results of the study were presented at last week’s International Society for Pharmacoepidemiology conference in Nashville.

Antidepressants like Prozac, Paxil and Zoloft have been the big topic in the news lately. It seems that much of the scientific evidence showing the link between suicide and antidepressants has been being kept secret by the big drug companies like Glaxo Smith Kline, Eli Lilly and Pfizer.
I guess I could see why… Who wants to tell their customers: “Not only do our drugs make you fat and kill your sex drive, but they also make you want to kill yourself”!

I recently found this very informative article about a recent protest of the FDA’s handling of psychiatric drugs. The protest is over how the FDA seems to actually be working in the best interest of the drug companies instead of the public. I would say that I have to agree with them.
The amazing thing about this article is that it quotes over 20 real-life examples of families who’s lives have been torn apart by the suicide and violence that occurs after the use of antidepressants and other psychiatric drugs like Ritalin. Over and over the story is the same - someone starts taking these drugs and then commits horrible acts of violence on themselves, their families and often their own children.

It recently has been reported by ABC News and HealthDay News that there is a growing problem of children being placed on multiple psychiatric drugs at the same time.
It sure sounds to me like the psychiatrist (or doctor) feeds the poor child a drug that causes horrible side effects and then pushes a second drug on them to “treat” the side effects. I’ve seen this awful practice at work first hand.

Tom Cruise has brought to light one of the most dangerous problems we face today: An epidemic of mind altering drug use
This epidemic is not the street drugs you would normally associate with such a problem. It is the wide array of psychotropic drugs that have been proven to increase suicide risks and potentially cause extreme violence in the users of these drugs.
In this article on Fox News the author goes over how many experts agree with the view that psychiatric drugs like Prozac, Paxil and Zoloft are dangerous. In this article the experts, Many of them credentialed psychiatrists, say things like: “clinical evidence does not justify the use of antidepressants” and “The bottom line is that we really don’t have any good evidence that these drugs work,”
