ADHD Drug Strattera Causes Suicidal Thoughts In Children

Thursday, September 29th, 2005

The drug manufacturer Eli Lilly is admitting today that their drug Strattera prescribed to treat ADHD and hyperactivity causes children to have suicidal thoughts. This is after the FDA requested that Eli Lilly provide the data that they apparently had not disclosed showing the link between suicide and this ADHD drug. After reviewing this information the FDA seems to have requested that Strattera carry a warning on it’s label.

Tom Cruise Is Right About Child Psychiatric Drugs

Wednesday, September 28th, 2005

I recently read an article in the LA Times about Tom Cruise and his fight against psychiatry. The article points out the truth behind his message against psychiatry’s drugging of children and the fact that two other major celebrities are self acknowledged victims of psychiatry’s betrayal of children. The article says: “WHEN TOM CRUISE and his fellow Scientologists took a hammering earlier this year for their public opposition to psychiatric drugs, neither they nor their critics could have anticipated the releases in July and August of two weighty reports offering evidence that at least some psychiatric prescription-writing has run amok.”

Mental Health Screening For Preschoolers?

Sunday, September 11th, 2005

Recently there has been a big push both nationally and at the local state levels to force mental health screening of children in schools. Often this is to be done without parental consent. This is clearly a violation of our basic rights as parents. These screenings are also used to make referrals to psychiatric care and to label children with learning or psychiatric disorders.

Adult ADHD or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder - Does It Exist?

Saturday, September 10th, 2005

I just ran across this great article by a University Professor about Adult ADHD (Adult Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder). In it, Dr. Mike S. Adams talks about his experience with students who have been falsely labeled with this fictional disease. I call it fictional because after doing plenty of research I have yet found any conclusive scientific evidence that ADHD is a biological brain disease.

I believe that the myth of ADHD has been enforced on our society by the giant pharmaceutical and psychiatric marketing & public relations machine. It’s a convenient way to hook people for life to become legalized drug users. After all, the drugs prescribed for this “disorder” like Ritalin & Adderall are classified as stimulants and placed on the same list by the US Drug Enforcement Agency as crack cocaine.

ADHD Drug Adderall Causes 20 Deaths

Wednesday, September 7th, 2005

I just ran across this article covering Adderall Deaths and the decision of Canadian health agency to pull the drug from the market.

The author covers the curious point of why does the FDA continue to allow this drug to be prescribed to children when it has been linked to the deaths of 20 children. In the article he says:

“This uncovers a fault in the regulation of pharmaceutical drugs: the absence of ongoing monitoring of the “performance” and especially the safety of drugs. Once approved, it appears that the FDA relies on voluntary reporting by the drug companies to tell it about side effects - a bit like having the fox guard the hen house.”

European Commission Recommends: No Child Be Prescribed These Psychiatric Drugs

Friday, September 2nd, 2005

The Citizens Commission on Human Rights has reported that Europe’s Committee for Medicinal Products for Human Use has issued extremely strong warnings stating no child or adolescent should be prescribed SSRI antidepressants or the “ADHD drug Strattera.

The European Commission confirming the recommendation of the Europe’s Committee for Medicinal Products for Human Use (CHMP) has just issued the strongest warnings against child antidepressant use to date. This follows review of clinical trials that shows these drugs cause suicide and behavior like: aggression, anger and self-harm Some examples of the drugs covered by this warning are: Paxil, Effexor, Prozac, Luvox, Celexa, Lexapro, Zoloft, Remeron, and Strattera. With these awful side effects, the agency said they should not be prescribed to children.

Kids On Multiple Psychiatric Drugs - Young Minds In Danger

Tuesday, August 9th, 2005

It recently has been reported by ABC News and HealthDay News that there is a growing problem of children being placed on multiple psychiatric drugs at the same time.

It sure sounds to me like the psychiatrist (or doctor) feeds the poor child a drug that causes horrible side effects and then pushes a second drug on them to “treat” the side effects. I’ve seen this awful practice at work first hand.

Are Smokers Insane… Or Not?

Monday, August 8th, 2005

I recently found a web page on the American Psychiatric Association website that discusses the mental “disease” of nicotine dependency. Long ago, having been a smoker - I took a little offense at this. How dare they label me with a psychiatric disorder! (At least I’m now a recovering Nicotine dependence sufferer).

Then upon reading further, I realized that the APA recommends that I should have taken a mind altering psychiatric medication (like Bupropion, Zyban or Wellbutrin) and counseling to cure my “disorder”. Huh, that’s amazing! I must have been a true scientific miracle, because I kicked the habit the good old fashioned way: Will power. I also had some help with making sure I had proper nutrition and took vitamins while I stopped, but none the less I somehow cured myself of this biological disease.

Say “NO” to drugs (but take your Ritalin)

Wednesday, July 27th, 2005

In this article published on American Daily the author discusses many of the points I often cover about psychiatric drugging in our educational system. He goes on to quote a blog post from Thomas Brewton who has an article by Pastor Harold W. Bolinger with personal hands on experience with the educational system pushing drugs on his son and causing great harm in the process.

I find it incredibly ironic that our modern educational system is very busy telling our children to “say no to drugs… but take your Ritalin.”
